Entrepreneurs are confused and overwhelmed. They constantly question themselves, seek advice from so-called experts, and wonder if they’re “doing it right.” We read book after book on strategy. We go to conferences, listen to Ted talks.

After two decades of this nonsense, I’m sick of it. Also, my business is doing fine, thank you very much — after 20+ years going strong. I am finally done questioning and assuming there was somehow a better answer to what I was already doing.

Which is this…

For every major decision, I simply ask the three key questions.

  1. Does it make money?
  2. Does it save money?
  3. Does it open new frontiers?

There is more to these simple questions than meets the eye.

1. Does it make money?

This should be pretty easy. Right outta QuickBooks. You get a job or sell a product. You ask, are you making money on the transaction?

The place where things go awry with this one is simple — Greed.
