NYC Update — Corona Day 6

…and here we go.

NY is instituting the same “lockdown” restrictions as California.

Governor Cuomo said he’ll be coordinating with adjacent states to make sure people don’t evade by saying, “Hey, let’s have our pickup basketball game in the park across the CT line.”

There’s a grieving process about the things we’ll lose. We think it’ll be for a short time (2–3 months), but the truth is we don’t know. The grief is over big things and little things. I think that’s because the little things kinda represent the big things.

Here’s what I’m sad about losing:

Wearing my engagement ring

I put it in the jewelry box last night. The ring belonged to my husband’s grandmother, so at ~100 years old, the thing can’t stand up to all the Clorox and scrubbing.

I consulted the portrait we have of grandma. She approved.

— My hairdresser

Having my hair cut and color done makes me feel human.
